Accredited Supervisor
This category is open to NAPCP Accredited Members who fulfil certain criteria. Accredited Supervisors are entitled to vote at General Meetings and are required to pay the annual subscription. ("http://www.irish-counselling.ie/feedback.htm" see ‘NAPCP Membership Fee's ')
Accredited Supervisors are required to abide by the NAPCP Code of Ethics and Practice and are subject to the NAPCP Complaints Procedure. They are entitled to apply for entry onto the NAPCP ‘Register of Accredited Supervisors' and the NAPCP database for referrals.
It is possible, on payment of the annual subscription for both categories, for an individual to be an Accredited Member and an Accredited Supervisor at the same time.
To become an Accredited Supervisor, an applicant must forward the relevant fees of €300 (€180 annual fee & €120 once off processing fee) and application form to the NAPCP office. Applications are assessed by the Accreditation Committee before the recommendations for accreditation are sent to the NAPCP board for ratification. Following this ratification, a letter of notification and a certificate of accreditation are sent to successful applicants.
NAPCP Supervisor Accreditation is for a period of five years and is dependent on the payment of an annual subscription, after which time the NAPCP Accredited Supervisor is required to make a formal application to renew their Supervisor Accreditation. Individuals accredited as supervisors by NAPCP may make themselves known as ‘NAPCP Accredited Supervisor'.
